Numerus fixus for the English track

The English-language track of the Bachelor’s programme in Economics and Business Economics has a numerus fixus. This means only 850 places are available for first-year students. To apply for this track, you need to take part in the selection procedure. The application deadline is 15 January. Please note: the Dutch-language track does not have a selection procedure.

Is Economics and Business Economics for you?

1. You are good at and enjoy mathematics, and you can communicate effectively in English. 
2. You are fascinated by economics and the world of business.
3. You want to learn about the role businesses play in the economy and how they influence one another. 
4. You can express your opinions clearly, and you have an inquisitive and critical mindset. 

Dutch or English?

If you are a Dutch-speaking student, you can also opt for our Dutch-language track. Both tracks are identical in terms of level and content. If you prefer a gradual transition to a fully English-taught programme, the Dutch-language track may be the right choice for you. 

Please note that the English-language track has a numerus fixus, meaning that only 850 places are available and that you have to participate in the selection procedure. The application deadline for the English-language track is 15 January. The numerus fixus does not apply to the Dutch-language track. 

Compare Economics and Business Economics with Business Administration and other programmes

Economics and Business Economics focuses on economic questions and uses quantitative methods based on mathematics and statistics. Business Administration focuses on what is involved in running and managing a business, especially from a strategic perspective and in light of aspects related to people, such as customers and staff. Its methods are both quantitative and qualitative. The programmes overlap in areas such as accounting and finance.
