Korea’s Han Kang won this year’s Nobel Prize for literature, making her the 18th woman to receive the award. In celebration of this, Arirang TV, Korea’s English-language national broadcaster, puts a spotlight on female authors from three countries who have won the Nobel Prize in Literature. In episode 2, Graham Riach joins other experts to discuss South African author Nadine Gordimer, who won the Nobel in 1991. Gordimer is famous for a body of writing that combines political insight with an unfaltering commitment to aesthetic truth.
