In collaboration with the ACLC, the Fryske Akademy (Leeuwarden) is looking for two PhDs for two projects.

We offer two promotion places for four years in the field of the Frisian language and culture. If you are looking for an interesting workplace where you can do independent research and where interest in the Frisian language is linked to contemporary research at one of the top European universities in the field of Linguistics, we now offer two unique opportunities. The collaboration between FA and UvA gives access to a strong, international research environment and at the same time to specialist knowledge about Fryslân and the Frisian language. We offer two places to carry out two of five possible research projects described in the project description ‘The Remarkable Resilience of Frisian’ (see www.fryske-akademy.nl/fakatueres). Note that for project 2-5, ‘being fluent’ up to ‘native’ levels of Frisian language command are required. For project 1, one has to work with many secondary sources in Dutch and German.
