Research interests
I am interested in argumentative discourse, particularly in political contexts. Drawing on an academic background in international relations (BA), communication and rhetoric (MA), and argumentation theory (ongoing PhD), I study ways in which identity is used to persuade an audience.
PhD project
My PhD project, Identity and Argumentation in the Public Discourse, examines identity appeals as they arise within the argumentation of institutions. Specifically, I focus on cases where institutional identities are employed to justify (controversial) policies and legitimize actions.
