Two representatives of NWO will visit the Faculty to inform researcher of the changes in the selection and assessment procedures as a result of NWO's reorganisation into four domains. Information will also be given about the new NWO call for proposals Smart Culture: Big Data/Digital Humanities.
On 1 January 2017, the current nine clusters of NWO have been re-organised into four domains. The Humanities and Social Sciences clusters are now combined into one SSH domain, presided by Wim van den Doel (presently dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Leiden). This reorganisation also entail changes with regards to the selection and assessment procedures for research grants (Veni/Vidi/Vici and others). During the first half of the meeting on Monday 27 February, Lenny Vos from NWO will outline these changes.
The second half of the meeting will focus on a new NWO call for proposals Smart Culture: Big Data/Digital Humanities, which is due to be launched very soon. Research projects should combine research for the Creative Industries with digital humanities research and large-scale digital infrastructures. Laia Frijhof will present the latest developments.
This meeting will start at 16.00; the location is to be confirmed. Please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to attend.
